Welcome

Our History

True Potential Education was established in 2014, by business partners Dawn Philbin and Nina Lorimor-Easley. Their personal journeys with dyslexia and years of expertise bring a passion for excellence every single day. At True Potential Education, students and families receive the services necessary to support their needs both academically, and emotionally. Our goal is to be the resource that did not exist when each of the business partners needed it most.

Dawn leads the team at True Potential Education. As the owner, she continues to oversee the fidelity of diagnostic evaluations and OG based remediation sessions. She has expanded the speech and language services, and creates individualized plans to meet the academic and social emotional learning needs of clients and families around the world.

Our Success

True Potential Education empowers clients by teaching them how to overcome their challenges. Our multi-sensory approach works because it changes the way the brain processes language, resulting in increased success in learning, self-confidence and a positive attitude. The professionals at True Potential Education are highly skilled and passionate about helping individuals gain the skills they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.

True Potential Education presents at educational conferences and events where parents, students, and educators can easily approach us to seek out answers to questions about academics, or concerns about the social emotional impact they are experiencing within themselves or observing in their child.

Our Approach

At True Potential Education, we use the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach to remediate dyslexia, and we ensure that it is being delivered with absolute fidelity. Orton-Gillingham has repeatedly been endorsed as the most appropriate and effective means of remediating dyslexia.

The extensive nature of the diagnostic evaluation report at True Potential Education is the result of a deep desire to provide the most complete language-based profile possible, with standardized assessments that are accurate and impactful, and written summaries that include language parents and educators can interpret. Dawn Philbin takes great care when planning both the immediate ‘next steps’ for clients, and when looking years into the future. The diagnostic report at True Potential Education can diagnose dyslexia, dysgraphia, and expressive/receptive language disorders. In addition, speech and language evaluation and therapt services include childhood apraxia of speech, fluency (stuttering), speech sound disorders (articulation/phonology), and voice disorders.
